Privacy notice

Last updated: November 5, 2026

This notice covers the Ohmeris website at ohmeris.com and the Ohmeris app. Both are run by Taproot Systems, Inc. (“we”), P.O. Box 1302, Ridgefield, WA 98642, United States.

Questions or requests about your data: hello@ohmeris.com.

What we collect

  • Waitlist and support. If you join the waitlist, the form sends your email address to Kit, which records your signup and confirmation. If you email us, we use your message and address to answer you.
  • Account and access. For a personal account, we store your email address, optional name, a password hash, verification status, and the version of the Terms of Service you accepted and when you accepted it. We use these to provide and secure your account. Email verification, password reset and account-security links use time-limited tokens. If you create an API token, we keep its hash and related access details so we can validate and revoke it.
  • Projects and shared work. We store the projects you save, including schematics, boards, firmware, files, simulation results and project conversations. We also store collaboration permissions, changes and presence as needed for shared editing. Invited collaborators can see work according to their access. A public project and its public comments can be seen by other people. People who copy a public project keep their own copy.
  • Classrooms. Teachers can create classes, assignments and classroom seats. We store seat names, membership, work, submissions and results so the class can function. A classroom seat uses class and seat codes in place of a student's personal signup email. Teachers can see the work and results for the classes they manage.
  • Payments and plans. Stripe handles payment details at Checkout and in the billing portal. We store Stripe identifiers, subscription and payment status, billing periods, payment and refund events, and credit grants and usage so we can provide paid access and handle renewals or refunds. We receive billing information included in Stripe's events.
  • AI and tool requests. When you use Benchmate or another AI feature, the app may send Anthropic your prompt and the context needed for that request, such as circuit or board data, firmware, or selected text from a datasheet. We keep project conversations and usage records to provide the feature and apply limits. A remote firmware build sends source, target and library details to our compile service. Configured supplier lookups can send part numbers or search terms to Mouser or DigiKey.
  • Request and error logs. Our hosting and logging services can record details such as your IP address, request path and time, browser information, error details and relevant account or billing identifiers. We use these to operate the service, diagnose failures and investigate abuse.

What we do not do

  • The website has no analytics, advertising or tracking scripts, and no social-media embeds.
  • We serve the public website's fonts, images and videos from our own domain. The app uses the cookies described below. Sites you visit through external links may have their own privacy practices.
  • We do not sell or rent your email address.

Signed-in accounts and plan enforcement

When you sign in to the Ohmeris app we collect the following to keep accounts secure and to enforce the plan terms, including the rule that a paid account is for one person (see the terms and the account limits):

  • a network prefix from your IP address and a rough location, such as your country;
  • device and browser details, such as the browser, version and operating system;
  • a session ID and a device ID for each browser you sign in from;
  • the times you sign in.

We use this only to protect your account (for example to spot a sign-in from somewhere unusual) and to check that account limits are respected. We do not use it for advertising and do not sell it. For visitors in the EU and UK, the legal basis is our legitimate interest in securing accounts and enforcing our terms. You have the right to object: email hello@ohmeris.com and we will review your situation and tell you the result.

How long we keep it: the sign-in data purge clears raw device and network details after 90 days. It removes older session and device records used for derived counts after 12 months of inactivity.

Contesting an action: if we limit or suspend an account because of this data, we tell you why. You can contest the decision by emailing hello@ohmeris.com with the subject “Account dispute”, and a person will review it and reply.

Cookies

The app sets a device cookie that holds a random device ID. It is strictly necessary to tell signed-in devices apart and enforce the session limit. We use session and sign-in security cookies to keep you signed in and protect the sign-in process. The app can also store preferences or temporary workflow state in your browser. We do not set advertising or analytics cookies.

Why we use your email

We use your waitlist email to invite you to try Ohmeris and send occasional product news. Kit sends a confirmation email first. For visitors in the EU and UK, the legal basis for this is your consent, which you can withdraw by unsubscribing. We use a separate email service to send account messages such as verification, password reset and new-device alerts.

Who processes your data

These services may process data in the United States or other countries. Contact hello@ohmeris.com with questions about where we process your data.

How long we keep it

Waitlist emails stay with Kit until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. We keep active account and project records to provide the service, and keep billing or payment records as needed for tax, accounting and legal reasons. Request and server logs are kept according to the settings of the relevant host or log service.

Use account settings to request permanent account deletion. The first deletion for an email address leaves an audit record with a one-way email hash, the plan, whether the account had a subscription, and the request IP address when available. The purge clears the IP address after 90 days. If an account with the same email address is deleted again, the first record stays unchanged. The repeat deletion appears only in our server logs with the account's internal ID, email hash, plan and subscription indicator, for as long as those logs are kept.

Your choices and rights

You can unsubscribe from waitlist emails. You can also email hello@ohmeris.com to ask what we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it, and we will answer within 30 days. Depending on where you live you may have further rights, including the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

The waitlist and personal accounts are for people aged 16 and over. Personal signup asks you to confirm this. Contact hello@ohmeris.com with questions about classroom seats.

Changes

If we change this notice we will update the date at the top. See also the Terms of Service.
